Influenza immunisation campaign

Objectives

  • Encourage action and uptake among Western Australians to get the influenza immunisation from May until September.
  • Encourage action and uptake among Western Australians to get the free influenza immunisation in May and June.
  • Raise awareness about the importance of the influenza immunisation.
  • Target high-risk groups with culturally appropriate messaging and media channels.
  • Drive the audience to the HealthyWA website to find an immunisation provider.

  • Free influenza vaccines in May and June.
  • You may be at risk of serious disease.
  • Immunisation will protect you, your family and the community.
  • Find a participating provider.
Target audience

Primary

The Western Australian general population with a focus on people most at risk of serious disease or complications from the disease. These groups include:

  • children aged 6 months to school Year 6
  • Aboriginal people over 6 months of age
  • pregnant women
  • medically at-risk persons (people with chronic medical conditions and/or disability)
  • people aged 65 years and over
  • people experiencing homelessness or congregate living.

Secondary

Providers and healthcare workers – midwives, general practitioners, Aboriginal Medical Services, pharmacists, WA Health community immunisation clinics.

Timing

May to September 2025.
